Ceru at London Riviera, More London Riverside, Tower Bridge

Oh, I do love to be beside the...riverside. Especially if it's a scorcher of a London summer's day but I'm in the shade, with views of Tower Bridge, sipping cocktails on a sun lounger with a plastic flamingo propping up plates of nosh...

I first discovered Ceru London's pop-up in a lil' corner of Fitzrovia serving healthy and vegetarian-friendly Levantine (Eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern) grub. You may have read my rave reviews about the surprisingly more-ish roasted aubergine with nuts and heard my web eye-rolling moans about how incredible their baklava ice-cream is. Hear that 'ping'? That's the sound of the top button flying off my jeans. Happily, Ceru  London have a new venue with much more ample room for me to 'spread out' - London Riviera at More London Riverside, where I can expand my waist with the sweet river breeze and brief London sun in my face, oh and with a view of London's most beloved landmarks.

My five favourites are the freshly baked Greek pita bread; with the pancar (roast beetroot) and red pepper dips, the herbed zucchini and feta cheese fritters, The Flavours of Baklava ice-cream (with honeycomb, roast nut brittle, and burnt honey caramel), and the crisp apple, pomegranate and mint salad. I wish I could've stayed longer to sample the rest of Ceru London's delicious and oh-so-fresh menu but alas, duty called. Don't let the chaos of city life get to you this weekend - make the most of the sun. Pop down to London Riviera, stretch yourself along a lounger, order the entire menu (and then some) and see how many cocktails you can fit atop the flamingo tables. Find Ceru London at More London Riverside, Tooley Street SE1Just look for the neon-pink, Miami Vice-esque sign. Come for the palm trees and (painted) parrots, stay for the food and the view. Raybans optional. x
