Bespoke Offers 'Beat My Price'

April 19, 2015

Spring has sprung in London! I’ve received this lovely surprise with great enthusiasm — can you tell from my bloomin’ burst of flowergrams? True to my hoarder-purger nature I celebrated with a huge spring clean, and now it’s time for the inevitable replacing of the things-that-were because I just can’t do ‘white space’ (unless of course it’s my wallet —  in a week the fat wad of crisp bills have whittled down to a modest family of moths). To reward my short-lived minimalism I’m treating myself to a few things for Spring. I’m thinking: a Nespresso U coffee machine for sipping home-brewed espresso at home like the (lazy) urban sophisticate I am while listening to Spotify's Acoustic Covers playlist on new Bose SoundTrue headphones and enjoying the sweet, zesty scent of a Jo Malone ‘Lime Basil & Mandarin’ candle.

To save myself some dollah toward the pursuit of my new-season acquirements I’ve been using Bespoke Offers new ‘Beat My Price’ service which does all the work and takes the hassle out of price hunting. Like having a personal assistant, if you will, minus the silent judging of my shopping basket: is a scented candle a business expense? (always)

'Your selection, m'lady' - if Beat My Price had a voice, I imagine it'd sound an awful lot like Carson.

‘BEAT MY PRICE’ : THE HOW, THE HOW LONG, AND THE HOW MUCH

‘Beat My Price’ is a newly launched bespoke personal shopping experience from Bespoke Offers which can help save more than 10% on electronics, home ware, films, and gadgets. Happily my fantasy of being the ‘ultimate super-saving savvy housewife’ is simplified to three steps: Find It, Copy It, Buy It.
1. FIND IT. Select the exact item from a large online retailer (eg. Amazon, John Lewis, Argos).
2. COPY IT. Paste the product URL into the ‘Beat My Price’ bar and sit back, let Beat My Price search for a better price then play the waiting game. Twiddling of thumbs while waiting in dramatically lit room, optional.
3. BUY IT. The moment of truth. If Beat My Price is successful, there's a limited time (usually 24 hours) to take up the exclusive price found for you. There is no obligation to buy anything!

You can have up to 5 live price searches at any one time. If one of your queries is resolved before the other four, you can request another search, because time is money, yo. For the uninitiated and curious, you can also browse Trending Offers on the Beat My Price homepage. I jumped the gun and bought the Nespresso U coffee machine directly from John Lewis (I was in Kuala Lumpur, delusional from caffeine withdrawals, and there it was in a delicious shade of taupe) but searched for it on Beat My Price anyway as a cautionary tale against impatience. I also searched for the Bose SoundTrue mint headphones and Jo Malone 'Lime Basil & Mandarin' scented candle (somewhat skeptically, I must stress - discount on Jo Malone candles, is this possible?) and in just a couple of hours, this arrived by email:

Well consider me impressed. Is it too late to return my Nespresso U and buy another one through Beat My Price? CARSOOOON!

Besides shopping on Beat My Price for the essentials (you know, scented candles and coffee machines) one can also browse Bespoke Offers for experiences like dining, travel, city, beauty, and fashion, and also by category, by price, and by city (London, Manchester, and Birmingham). I have my eye on a few London deals which says a lot about my lifestyle choices (I'm all about cakes, hair, and cameras)...

LONDON DEALS:

...and also this travel deal: a 2-night luxury treehouse experience for Henry and I at Snowdonia National Park in Wales, £379! Because you can take the woman out of the rainforest but you can't take the orangutan out of the Malaysian. Or something.

Beat My Price is now a permanent fixture on my browser tabs given that I do most of my shopping online. Unexpected benefit? It's help curb my impulse shopping as I have to wait for Beat My Price to return with a better offer, so anything I buy is more thoughtful and decisive as opposed to the ape-like keyboard bashing that precedes all my regrettable purchases (which I'm usually too lazy to return). Although any savings I've made may have been negated by all the shiny new things I find myself clicking on thanks to Beat My Price's selection of hot deals...the £20 & Under is a real temptress, I'm telling you.

  1. I read about this on someone else's blog but I like the way you've presented it and they didn't mention the experiences service, that champagne tea for one sounds like just my sort of thing! Can't wait to read about your tree house trip if you go! :)

  3. I have never heard about this before but it sounds like such a good idea! It is such an effort to search all different websites for a good price, much better to have it all on one site!
